Counterfeit Christianity – Part III – The Doctrine of Devils

How by are ye called? How many names and titles are you referred to as? A man typically has three names the first, middle, and last. He also is called son by his parents, daddy or dad if he has children, husband, hubby, by his wife, sir out of politeness in addition to whatever work title he has. The same is true for women respectively being daughter, mommy, mom, wife, and so forth.

God is no different, but forgetting this is where we error often. For example: A man is sometimes referred to as a temple, a tabernacle, a vessel, and referred to as earth, being made from such to which people are also referred to as clay. Thus, ‘in the earth’ is an indication being within a person whereas ‘on the earth’ indicates exterior experiences. Likewise, our falsies are also subjected to various homogeneous types.

This is important to rightfully divide the word of God to understand how to overcome these challenges. For I was once found myself having problems with selective reading; the good parts where mine and the bad parts where theirs. You see our relationship is contingent upon how we read our Father’s word. If I read His word as a victim then I regard everyone is a perpetrator, if I read His word as a teacher then I tend to see most people as my pupils, but if I read the bible as everything pertaining to me therefore, I am willing to repent for what He says that I am, then I am a child of God. For then my wisdom comes from above and I no longer look to establish my righteousness through my knowledge by leaning upon my understanding.

Glory not in the power of devils

A product of the self-righteous church can be seen in the example given to us in the book of Luke. Jesus sent the 70 out and instructing them to preach the gospel and gave them power to heal the sick. So look at how Jesus responded to the 70 whence they returned to him.

And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.” – Luke 10 :17-20 KJV

Why did he respond this way? They were never instructed to cast out devils, but in their glory they did such and he said unto them “behold I saw Satan fall from heaven as lighting” for in an instant we can fall from righteousness and be taken into pride. So of the 70 that He sent out 12 remained with him when the walk became too hard to bear and John 6:66 tells us;

“From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.”

The Apostle John also wrote Revelation

“Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.” – Revelation 13:18 KJV

Behold, I saw Satan fall from heaven as lighting…

However, he also sent out His disciples who were obedient to his words and to them he gave power over unclean spirits for they believed on him, not themselves thereby He made them into Apostles. * Matthew 10:2 KJV

“And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.” – Matthew 10:1 KJV

The difference here being obedience to the words of life as we are told what became of the disciples that found the Lord’s words to be abide in.

Obedience to his words is power is life for us, Simon Peter caught that a few verses later. But not the sensual feeling of the spirit profits us nothing.

Everything done outside of this is done in man’s own name, not that of the Lord Jesus Christ.

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. And he said, therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. From that time, many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.” – John 6:63-66 KJV

Will ye also go away, for this is a hard saying, who can hear it?

Note: There is a contradiction in translations here between how many disciples Jesus sends out, either 70 or 72. Some versions of the bible record it as being of one way while the others give the amount 2 additional men. Reference Numbers 11:24-30 then Matthew 21:28-32. Which versions here tell us of the will of the Father?

“If I beheld the sun when it shined, or the moon walking in brightness; And my heart hath been secretly enticed, or my mouth hath kissed my hand: This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge: for I should have denied the God that is above.” – Job 31:26-28 KJV

Glory not that ye have power over devils brethren for this is a commandment from the Lord Jesus Christ. Mark them that regard this not for they are not of us being of another spirit. Remember the sons of Sceva and rely upon the truth written for us by the Apostle John in that;

“All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. (doubt) We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.” – 1 John 5:17-19 KJV

The begotten of God keeps himself and the wicked one touches him not.

“Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? And Jesus answering them began to say, take heed lest any man deceive you: For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” – Mark 13:4-6

Know that the word “Christ” in Greek means ‘anointed one’, think on this… Be not deceived.

For many shall come in the name of Jesus saying; I am anointed, this teaching, is anointed… and shall deceive many.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be upon you all, God bless and take care.
